I'm keen on doing Introductory Greek A as one of my courses in the first semester and potentially pursuing the later courses after it (Introductory Greek B, Classical Greece, etc.) However, my parents and grandmother think it's not practical and I should choose a language like Italian or French, which are more widely spoken and whose countries have had a greater influence on the Western world. I can't seem to persuade them, so what should I do? What do you think about doing Introductory Greek?

In terms of practicality - than yes, Italian or French but if you seriously just want to learn Greek, love the language and are keen to study it - than go ahead.
