cmon guys
chess is just different compared to other sports

in other sports..say rugby
u test ur strength, agility and stamina

in swimming, u test ur stamina and technique

but chess is different, it tests the muscles in your fingers. think of it as weight lifting. that's a sport right?

i dunno, i guess it is a sport, sorta. it involves stratergies and all that jazz, and there is a competitive edge to it. yet you could say the same about finding a parking spot in a shopping centre. so in answer to you question, i dont know

Anything that has the potential to deliver a life threatening injury can be called a sport. Therefore, if recent cases in South Korea are a good guide, counter strike is a sport :).

yeah but those ppl that are playin chess without seeing the board arnt blind are they? i have nothing against blind ppl but i find that concept is quite lame but also challenging.. :D

in my opinion a sport would have to be a game or woteva where u can get easily hurt.. like i wouldnt consider snooker/pool as a sport but i think its a recreational sport..

kids in Hong kong have commited suicide over pc games coz they couldnt hack it or prob got hacked and got beaten in it..
