Have a lot of people in the past done well in Maths without tutoring?
I've started tutoring since year 11 until now for maths 3u and we've just finished all our topics and we're starting revision.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to quit now? He is helpful but he drives me crazy. He's kind of scary.

If I practice a lot of questions by myself would I be okay without a tutor? Or am I placing myself in deep water?

Really depends if you actually find yourself needing help from him or not

i wouldn't say it's necessary.. but i'd say it's bloody highly recommended

around 99% of kids i know who are doing well in maths ext (esp), are doing so because they have a tutor

quit now? depends if you're doing well in maths.. if you're not, obviously he's probably not helping very much and you should consider other options

leading into the trial &hsc, it'd probably be useful to keep tutoring

No. Getting someone to tutor you isn't necessary.

If you're motivated and you study correctly, then you're tutoring yourself.

Well, I didn't need any tutoring for Maths. There are some good tutors out there but some of them are just hopeless (check out the tutoring forum for some "exemplars"...)

Depends on the person tbh.

The thing with maths is, you need to be consistent and do work regularly, its not very easily crammed at the last minute. If you feel that you can keep up with the work yourself and hopefully don't have some fail teacher, you'll be fine.

However, it is your choice, i'm doing ext 1 and ext 2 maths right now without a tutor and i feel that im doing pretty well.

its up to you, if u feel u need one, or that its helpful then keep it.
if u think its just wasting your time then quit.

I did Ext 1 and 2 maths last year without a tutor and got high band 6's.
so u dont need a tutor to do well, but it can help.
