Journey is a multifaeceted term, they don't always need to be physical i.e. a road travelled.

They can be about understanding in that for e.g. a child undertakes an intellectual journey learning the morals of what is right and wrong.

It can also mean that the purpose of the journey is not getting to the destination, but what is learnt along the way,
