In many Australian universities that offer the JD, it's the postgraduate equivalent of undergraduate law (LLB).

In some Australian universities, it's offered as an undergraduate degree.

It's a first degree in law in Australia equivalent to the LLB. Overseas, it is offered differently (e.g. some offer it as a doctorate in law, some offer it as a masters equivalent).
