R v. LMW (1999)

• 10yo Boy (LMW) charged with manslaughter of a 6yo boy after LMW accusedly dropped the boy into the Georges River knowing he could not swim.
• Found not guilty by the jury as it was said that the death had been a prank gone wrong
• Raised issue of doli incapax

R v. De Gruchy (2000)

• Killed mother, brother and sister.
• Police found a 'checklist' written by De Gruchy with instructions for the killings
• Convicted of murder
• Due to being youth, was not given life; rather minimum 21 years + 7
