How is dispute resolution a feature of customary law? Refering to past paper from 2009 HSC paper, question 15. Can't understand why. I figured if I put this in the Legal Studies section, I wouldn't get many responses.

Dispute Resolution is a BIG part of customary law! It involves things like mediation and circle sentencing, and is very unique to customary law. It often involves Aboriginal elders determining the punishment, and they try to avoid the courts.
