I've chosen lighting design for my IP and i was desperatly hoping for examples of it at Onstage.
However, there were none..
So now i'm up a particular creek witout a paddle.
Is anyone else doing lighting?
Has anyone done lighting that is willing to help?
Please?

Ok, so for a 1:25 lighting plan, everything is 1/25 the size it would be in real life. This includes the lights as well as the bar.

Make sure you include all the relevant infromation such as:
Angle
Colour Gel
Gobo
Patch Point
Light Type

Some useful links, which have links of their own as well:

Proberbly the best thing to do would be to go to some local thertre and get there stage floor plans, thease are useually 1:50, then take it to officeworks (pints upto a max of B0 and scans to a max of A0), and get it enlarged untill it is 1:25.

the units and any assessorys (i think) also need to be in that 1:25 scale, so probs just guesstimate those :s unless you go to the manufactures website (i.e. Strand) and look at the unit specs, then create a drawing template through printing a scale drawing of the unit and laminateing it 3 times, then cutting the insides out, so you can just draw around the inside to create an outline of the unit :p

Hope that helped,

Peace out,

Weddas

Hey Weddas,
Thanks so much, but I finished my HSC last year. I ended up working with lighting designer Chris Venn (who works with the Opera House), and had to draw up my Floor Plan by hand. I'd be happy helping anyone considering doing lighting design, firstly by saying "You're crazy", and secondly by saying "For goodness sakes, start early!!"
