i have searched everywhere.

is there a media player other than xmms for linux. since xmms makes mp3s crackle and doesn't seem to support wma.

mplayer - plays almost everything provided you have the correct codecs.

i tried mpg123 b4 but i can't seem to install it, it keeps saying error, no matter what i try.

i'll give the others a shot tomorrow

mp3blaster is good, but it is console based. So its not fancy.

realplayer also has been ported to linux.

lol, i think that depends on the brand. With all the copyright protection in the sony products i doubt there is a free linux version

Well, as for the MD, theres hope someone wrote something... so keep googling it :)

There is Totem, sound and media player, with a playlist function.

I think it supports WMA.
