At Macquarie, they count Ds as HDs in the calculation of your GPA ie if you get all Ds or HDs, your GPA is 4.0/4.0.

Does anyone know why do/can Macquarie do this?

Or how this impacts how employers look at your resume etc when applying for a job?

I'm at Macquarie so I'm not complaining by any means, just a little confused.

There is no standard for GPA at universities, Usyd and UNSW don't even use GPA - they almost exclusively use WAM. I wrote a guide and short discussion on this which is stickied at the top of this section.
