err..ur gonna have to make friends
not in lectures, but in tutorials definately, because, depending on your degree, u'll have groupwork tasks etc, which requires u to meet outside of uni time

C'mon guys, look at the bright side! A chance to put behind you a lot of the embarressing nicknames and events of the last 13 years and start afresh for the most part ;)

Anyone who's going to Newcastle Uni just say so and I'll be friends with you!

I think the person sounded serious (I think).

Well in relation to group work, most courses make you do group work because it will benefit you in industry. I mean there aren't many jobs at all where you would work alone. You will need to talk to others to get your own job done, and usually work alongside other people.

Uni is a good time to experience group work and improve your social and teamwork skills before you get out in the industry. So I say take the opportunity to make friends at uni, work on projects with them, and enjoy yourself.

what places on campus did you apply for natstar? Living on campus is a great way to make friends. It is good to have friends in your course...it helps heaps with assignments, studying, social life etc
