HSC
2012
MC- 18/20
Short Answer- fairly confident answered all questions to requirements, possibly 2-3 marks lost in the longer responses but cannot see how to be honest.
Essay-

Q25- (analyse changes in the global economy affect on BOP)-
Wrote 7 Pages
Broke down components of BOP, and analysed each component (BOGS, Net Income, Capital Account, Financial Account)
Integrated economic data for each, provided relationships between developments in the global economy (ie- technology, trade, financial flows)
and the changes in economic conditions particularly GFC in relation to intrest rates, commodities. (note- didnot mention external stability, pitchford thesis, simply answered the questions changes in global economy affect BOP)

Q28- (effectiveness of policies in achieving government economic objectives)
Wrote 8.5 pages
- economic objectives- price stability, full employment and general wellbeing and economic prosperity
Broke down each of these components and discussed MP,FP and microeconomic reform on each of these, talked about obviously time lag and implementation lag, but also trade offs faced ie- phillips curve. Integrated data by giving examples of effective policy mix during GFC. And for general wellbeing and economic prosperity i focused on income distrbution. Generally speaking covered most aspects of unemployment and inflation.

Dude your so unlucky, question 28 screwed u over big you could have gotten state ranking.

You didnt talk about labour market policies! and you didnt talk about environmental stability!! You didnt talk about external stability or environmnetal sustainability !

Your not meant to go deep into those MP and FP your meant to skim/short analysis each economic objective and each policy. no offence but you can not get over 60 percent for question 28 because you didnt answer the question....

Sghguos you're so full of shit, stop trying to make other people feel bad.

It's ALWAYS better to go for quality over quantity. It would have been impossible to cover all economic issues in depth.

Douche.

Edit: Oh, but in response to the question, I'd say around 85 raw but it's really hard to judge.

I mentioned microeconomic policies such as national competition policy and government retraining programs in relation to increasing AS (i added a graph to aid), how this effective policy in increasing eco gowth while easing inflationary pressure, however time taken into affect can vary between 3-20 years, and this is a reason why microeconomic reform is subject to political constraints

check markers comments for past responses "better responses" cover almost all objectives
I would say 5 is enough for full marks (if you do them in depth- question was so board, i would imagine at least 1400 words)

But your BOP essay sounds really good. I fked up that (panicked) but have a good feeling about my policies essay.

LOL 1400/5 is NOT in depth - especially considering there were three arms of policy, as well as a discussion of changing policy stances.
