its exercise 1.6 starting on page 20

i cant do the last question 14, and 8 part c...

anyone?

well more clearly, i dont get what 8c is asking...

hehe, golden rule to maths- put pen on paper!!!

14 is just some simple algebra, just multiply the top line by 3, the bottom line by 2, and let them equal each other.

and now im stuck - the question before it was easy... but this one, is just... messy.

It's not that hard:

Let alpha = z, beta = y

3(z + 4y) = 2(y - 2z + 2)
7z + 10y - 4 = 0

3(2z + y + 1) = 2(2z - 3y - 1)
2z + 9y + 5 = 0

Yeah, that does look a bit messy, but solvable nonetheless.
