I mean essentially you just want to change the LHS algebraically into something which you can use your n=k/assumption. Then simplifying that should give you the RHS. Do you have specific examples? Usually induction questions are pretty straightforward. The main struggle (for the more difficult questions) I have with induction is figuring out what I approach I should take when proving for n=k+1.
Are there any tips that i should keep in mind when doing these questions?
Bro not if the proof uses Combs thoI mean essentially you just want to change the LHS algebraically into something which you can use your n=k/assumption. Then simplifying that should give you the RHS. Do you have specific examples? Usually induction questions are pretty straightforward.
Lol our school hasnt even started perms and combs so i've never seen those questionsBro not if the proof uses Combs tho
bsLol our school hasnt even started perms and combs so i've never seen those questions
?? what
no lol, once again, we havent done perms and combs...Have u never encountered smn like: View attachment 38844
....wait im not sure but isnt that just kc3+kc2=k+1c3
ill try that rnwait im not sure but isnt that just kc3+kc2=k+1c3
I did yeah. I forgot ab the properties I proved in a) and thought I did smthn wrong w the algebra lmaoView attachment 38845
i cba to do the rest cus u got it i think
Unfortunately, often when you want to solve a problem, you don't what approach to take. As a result you just need to give it go. I think key thing to look out for when going through question was trick used. E.g., proof by cases, was an additional theorem used as an lemmaThe main struggle (for the more difficult questions) I have with induction is figuring out what I approach I should take when proving for n=k+1.

I don’t have time to do a full solution rn but basically just expand the combination into its full form and usually things will fall into place
arent you in year 12? if so shouldnt you have done p&c in y11?Lol our school hasnt even started perms and combs so i've never seen those questions
some schools do it in yr12arent you in year 12? if so shouldnt you have done p&c in y11?
yea we do text term lolarent you in year 12? if so shouldnt you have done p&c in y11?
