It is probably really obvious to some of you but, here as the book states is the question:

In triangle(ABC), (D) is a point on (BC) such that BD=CD=AD. Prove that angle(BAC)=90degrees

I would advise drawing illustrations on paper so you can visualise it.

Uh oh I just realised I made a typo.

Where it says Angle BAD = Angle BDA, it should say: Angle BAD = Angle ABD.

Apologies for any confusion.
