i know this is an unbelievably stupid question, but my mind has completely blanked of all trig i did last year.

how do you do this question?

find x to the nearest minute.

cos x° = 0.4792

how do you answer that question? i think you divide 0.4792 by cos right? but but...what do i type into my calculator?

(i cant believe ive forgotten all the simple things yet remember the not-so-simple things)

there's an inverse cos button on your calculator. cos and sin and tan etc aren't variables, they are function. the opposite of a cos function is an inverse cos function.

it looks like "cos-1" so press that button than 0.4792 and you have ur answer (sorry dont have a calculatron handy )

hope that helps
