By wireless do you mean RFID? internet? infrared? bluetooth?

You can get cheap parts at Create store at UNSW if you are a student at UNSW. Bluetooth and RF available. Otherwise you can get stuff at Jaycar.
However I am guessing you want to know how to build something. In that case, asking people at Create would be a good idea again if you go to UNSW.
Otherwise you would have to seek finding other people, data sheets on the internet or possibly just going to your closest hobby shop or electronic stores and asking them about a few tips and tricks. People who work at hobby shops or electronics stores usually will have a backing as to what you can do with some things. If they don't, then they will direct you to someone else who does know about it as its their job!!!
