Which one of the following elements would have the lowest melting point?

a) Kr

b) Br2

c) S8

d) Ca

e) K

Is the answer a? Not sure... just want to check with someone. For Br2, is there any difference? I mean, is the melting point the same as Br or doubled? Thanks

If you go to this link -

http://www.chemicalelements.com/show/meltingpoint.html

all the element melting pts u wanted are there, I would say the answer would be c, but that is based on the fact that you have S8 and I think that means you have to times the mpt by 8 coz there's more sulfur or something or other.
If that didn't help, I hope the link does :)

From that table, it looks like (a) Kr has the lowest melting point.

Bromine is a liquid at room temperature, so it has a low melting point. (d) and (e) are metals so that rules them out, and Sulfur is a solid at room temperature . So the answer is either (a) or (b). But since Kr is a noble gas (i.e. a gas at room temp) then it must have the lowest melting point. So (a) Kr is the answer.

Dude, I so read that wrong, for some strange reason I thought you wanted the highest not the lowest..my bad :p . In that case though, as everyone has said the answer is a
