Hi

I have only just decided to change course and uni all at once.

First of all..am I too late to?? (please say no)

If not...I got an UAI that is over the subject that I want to do BUT my uni marks are cr@p. (regret deeply on choosing the wrong subject)

And I have done the STAT test in 2004. Will UWS accept me?

I am going to ring them tomorrow..but just wanted to see if anyone's online and feel like answering me, so if I am too late, I can give up the hopes now.

UWS wont look at ur uni marks i believe.

but im afraid applications may have closed. but try and ring them anyway, they might have late applications but at a fee. like ANU i think

I'm pretty sure that UAC admissions have closed.

Try ringing up the UWS admin and beg your way in. But knowing admin, they will just screw you around.

Isn't it 50 / 50 = uai / uni marks. Not 100% sure about that one though.

Its a freecall number so no charge, there will be a menu, press on one fo the numbers and wait. it should be realtivley not busy so you should be able to connect straight through...good luck!

I called yesterday...all closed...have to wait till next yr..so down..hopefully the uai will drop too so i can get in.

Don't know what i'm going to do for half a yr.

You could continue studying and try an improve your marks. Depending what your studying now, and what you want to study you could gain exemption.

Or you can "take a leave of absence" for half a year and do something else.

I have taken the 'leave' and now decided to find a job.

The THING I am worrying about now is won't get into B of Arts next year if the UAI goes up and my UAI scales down because I am not a recent school leaver.

Should I do STAT?

Sorry people...just so depress lately...because getting into UNSW and doing Industrial design was like everything I ask for and now I realise how much I hate it. A dream is shattered. sigh

I think your stressing far too much, take a deep breath and relax

Anyway, isn't arts held on more than one of the campuses? The further west you go, generally the lower the UAI cut off will be, cause people don't want to travel, cause they are lazy

Good luck finding a job though.

well it looks like last years cutoffs for arts at UWS was like 70.

so i think you got a good chance

and for the stat test, im not to sure but i think they will only look at it if ur over 21 or something. (not sure)

Because Industrial design is crap.

No seriously it is just so different to what I thought it would be, the when I was younger I always wanted to do Psychology or something. But then for HSC I chose the more 'technical' subjects and everyone's like "You will like it" "Suits what you did for HSC" blah blah so I took their word for it.

And at first it did look like wow..this is what I want to do for life! But after a few more weeks...a Nope is the final result.

So I would be extremely depress if I don't get in next year.
