Could someone pls give an example and also explain how the hydrolysis process works in part b, thanks
Lets say the salt is NaCH3COO note the salt has to be a weak acid or weak base. Now Na+ is a spectator ion whereas CH_3COO- goes through hydrolysis as shown below:

CH3COO- +H2O ⇌ CH3COOH +OH-

Since OH- is created the resultant solution will be slightly basic.
