I've wasted 85+ hrs on this game and manged to finish most of the offline content. So want to play online but it's stupid .iso (PSP)

Can't wait for after HSC and play it online with MHP2: dos

I tried playing it but couldn't make head or tales of how to actually do stuff so I just gave up. A guide would be nice but gamefaqs doesn't even supply a decent one.

If your talking about MHF for PSP then i suggest you hit up psp-hacks.com forums there is a great thread there with lots of help to do with MHF.
