billy madison left an impression on me... i cant hear the word "chlorophyll" without thinking of it...

But I don't think films actually give you new perspectives. A film speaks to you by reinforcing your worldview rather than challenging it.

For me this film would be Lost in Translation of course ;)

Wholeheartedly agree. I was going to say Lost in Translation as well except that it didn't really offer me any new perspectives, but instead gave some shape to some of my own thoughts at the time. In hindsight Before Sunset did the same.
