I'm giving this a good thought.

I don't need it though...I'll be completing my degree without it. So, its like an extra 2 credit points that I don't need to do. The unit looks a bit interesting, in content and in delivery.

I'm going to email the guy about HECS and any withdrawal without academic/financial penalty dates, if available.

You can complete the course in 1 day if you want. As far as I understand, there are no time limits on when you submit the assessments.

Despite, as Rob says, sounding like HSC business studies all over again, I'm interested, too... -- as you say, content and delivery look 'interesting'. Could be a nice unit to give a formal understanding to some aspects that we don't specialise in... then again it could also be very general.

Do note (if it hasn't been already) that the cutoff date for it is the 13th of june. It's the 10th of june today.

You can do it in first year. It says all undergrads can do it.

Just check your estudent because I thought that after first semester first years could enrol themselves.
On the left click "UG re-enrolment commences 13 Feb"
"ADD units HERE"
and then it depends on your degree but you should have to choose your program and then choose subjects. You would choose this unit as an elective.

If that doesn't work, this http://www.mii.mq.edu.au/courses/undergraduate/inov101.htm page says:
"All undergraduate students can enrol in INOV101. If eStudent does not allow you to enrol, please submit an eStudent enquiry at http://www.student.mq.edu.au/cgi-bin/external/enquiry.cgi?menutype=MQnU"

Isn't the course start n finishes in July, so shouldn't it mean that these assessments are gonna be completed by the end of this course?

You gonna do it dude? Anyone else, for that matter? I would wanna have some e-friends I can chat with re the e-unit! ;)

Edit: they've removed my option line from eStudent. Bastards. Oh the joys of a totally-prescribed double degree. Hmm... are eStudent support open on weekeneds?

I'm really not sure....But I am inclined to do it. I guess it may come down to whether I can defer it...I am going to wait for the response to my email. How certain are you?

Yeah that is what I meant. You should be able to submit all assignments on 24th July, and it should be ok. (I think...I've contacted Dr. David Gow. Just awaiting his response. I will post it here once done.)

PResumably they contact you.

...and me, if I can get onto eStud. Trying now.
Got an email back.
Dear Rahul,

Thanks for your note.

I must confess that I'm new to Macquarie and not entirely confident
about my knowledge of administrative matters. So please check with
Macquarie's Student Enquiry Service to double check.

1. I understand that INOV101 is HECS eligble and so the payment can be
deferred. INOV101 is a "band 2" unit and so the upfront cost is about
$394.00, and the HECS HELP liability is $492.

2. To be frank, since this is offered in the Winter Vacation, I'm not
sure about the "withdrawal without penalty" date for a unit offered at
this unusual time. I'll see if I can check and get back to you with an
answer.

3. I anticipate the final enrolment in INOV101 to be in the 60-80
range; but since this is the first offering of the unit, I don't have
much of a basis for any estimate.

4. Re "due dates". The INOV101 unit outline has due dates for the
four assignments; however, it notes that in light of the unusual timing
of the unit, students may submit an individual proposal for alternative
due dates.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
David
I'm in Steve...I'm gunna do it. :D
