Hi All,
I'm about to start nursing at TAFE. Does anyone know what it's like? I haven't been in formal education and I'm not great at meeting people. I'm doing the course because I got a scholarship for the year and it means that it's going to mean I don't have to pay HECS for a year.

Also - can someone please explain how a GPA is calculated? I need to get GPA of 5.5 for my post-grad course (once I've done my Dip. Enrolled Nursing and Ba. Registered Nursing). I'm not sure how this equates to marks, but I imagine that it's not easy to attain.

Thanks :)

Most uni's do it on a scale of 0-7. A GPA of 5.5. would be an above credit average (credit = 5.0 usually) - completely achievable if you work hard.

However, for your postgrad, you'll find that is the minimum that they accept (they don't want undergrads that just scrape through with a pass) but you are still competing against other people and so it still may not be enough if places are limited so just try your best and see how you go.
