HSC
2009
Credentials:

Physics 98 (State 7th)
Chemistry 98 (State 2nd)
Biology 97 (State 9th)

First in Baulkham Hills High School in Phys/Chem/Bio
99.95 ATAR, 99 UMAT
2 YEARS EXPERIENCE tutoring in Year 11 and 12

Aim:

Recent HSC papers are more and more fixated on practical applications, like calculations
and diagram-based questions, so having a thorough understanding of the fundamental ideas
is ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS.

I am offering a ACCELERATING COURSE on these crucial concepts.
I will not be focusing on rote-learnt theory, because rote-learnt theory is often forgotten soon
after teaching. I don’t aim to dictate theory which can be equally well memorized from
a textbook.

Rather, we will focus on the key concepts which are often undertaught at school. Where other
tutors and teachers may skim over the explanation and ask for memorization without
understanding, I will explain thoroughly.

Also, we will extensively focus on HOW TO ANSWER QUESTIONS and gain maximum
marks, using homework questions from PAST PAPERS as well as those I make myself.

Details:

$25/hr !!! :eek2:

Up to groups of 3
Location: Wentworthville (7 mins walk from the station)

1. This is cheaper, $25 per person (because it's in a group)

2. This is SUPPOSED to be more focused on Key Concepts and Exam Technique, and less focused on things which you JUST have to memorise, such as the "Use of Acids as Food Additives" Dotpoints in Chemistry Module 2. As a result, we can presumably accelerate faster and cover more of the course quickly. That said, if you WANT I can focus on everything, including the memorisation'y Dotpoints. With normal students, we usually go at a variable speed depending on school assignments, how often they come, whether we split the time with multiple subjects, etc.

Spots are limited, sign up quickly guys! Group sizes are usually 2 or 3, and I only put students in the same class if they have relatively similar abilities =)
