i was wondering if someone could help me with this question:
1) the digits 1,2,3,4,5,6 are used to form numbers which contain two or more digits. the same digit cannot be used more than once in a number. what proportion of such numbers are even?

I must be missing something, surely that would just be 1/2 seeing that you have just as many even numbers to choose from as you have odds...

proportion doesn't mean probability, it means magnitude or end point. That being said, klaw's answer would be correct.
