Okay guys, I've been hearing about this for a couple years now but the things 3d printing has been doing recently is phenomenal. Have you heard of these 3d printed heart stories

https://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/20/health/3-d-printed-heart-silicone-study/index.html

I always had an interest in helping people who lost their limbs, etc but had an equal amount of passion in tech and invoicing apps. I feel like this is what my calling is. Helping people using 3d printed prosthetics.

What would I need to study to become an expert at both?

Also is it a realistic goal?

Greta ambition. I guess your interest needs some exercises in 3d modelling sector. You must need to have a good understand in 3d rendering services first and learn how it works in real life. 3d printing is obviously the future tech and you need to learn software like AutoCAD (for basic knowledge only), Maya, Corona and various more.
And in order to make a prosthetic hand, you also have to learn something about Biology and Electro-Mechanics.
