lol that really confused me but i think this is it ><

-[3z^2 + 7z - ( 2z^2-3z)] + [(8z^2 - [5z- z^2]) + 2z^2]

= -[3z^2 + 7z - 2z^2 + 3z] + [8z^2 - 5z + z^2] + 2z^2]

= -3z^2 - 7z + 2z^2 - 3z + 8z^2 - 5z + z^2 + 2z^2

= 10z^2 - 15z

I got...

-[3z^2 + 7z - (2z^2 - 3z)] + [(8z^2 - [5z - z^2]) + 2z^2]
= -3z^2 - 7z + 2z^2 - 3z + 8z^2 - 5z + z^2 + 2z^2
= [-3z^2 + 2z^2 + 8z^2 + z^2 + 2z^2] + [-7z -3z -5z]
= 10z^2 - 15z

This probably looks a lot better when you write it like this.
–[3z2 + 7z – (2z2 – 3z)] + {[8z2 – (5z – z2)] + 2z2}
= –[3z2 + 7z – 2z2 + 3z] + {[8z2 – 5z + z2] + 2z2}
= –[z2 + 10z] + {[9z2 – 5z] + 2z2}
= –z2 – 10z + {9z2 – 5z + 2z2}
= –z2 – 10z + 9z2 – 5z + 2z2
= 10z2 – 15z

the power thing makes it a whole lot easier to understand

btw i got the same answer

Well, the General course does require you to simplify algebraic expressions, including grouping symbols, but it would be very unlikely to see an exam question like this. No harm in practising this though!
