hey I know this has been mentioned in other threads but i just wanted to ask everyone about portfolios for getting into design schools.
For those who have already done theirs, what did you put in?
Everyone says to take your school projects to interviews, but do you take the whole folder from each project or just make a page of pictures and inspiration from each?
also, how many pages do people expect to see in a portfolio?
I sort of have the general idea of what goes in, like sketches of all different media etc, but i want more details because i don't want to miss anything or end up not having enough or too much. Even details like what sort of folder to use - i hate folders with plastic sleeves and i do all my school portfolios in sketch books or ring binders.

Heineman put out a book called Focus on Folio. Chapter 5 is devoted to preparing a portfolio for tertiary entrance. The book is mainly for art students but chapter 5 is for anyone wanted to go on to tertiary study.

Go to the visual arts forum and there is a thread on interviews click on that and that is a link to a website with the book. Good luck
