I am about to enter year 11 and I was just wondering if my subject choices were reasonable enough. Obviously, it is up to me what i chose to do. However, I'd like some opinions and advice.
The subject choices are below in my signature.

Thanks, for all your help! :)

[If it helps. I would like to become a Veterinarian]

Kill all your subs, especially Drama and English. Swap to chem if you're really chem on doing vet science and want to be able to bludge the 1st year of uni.

For prelimin, you want to be looking at something like:

Maths 2U, MX1, English Adv, Chemistry, Biology, Religion 1U (if you must do religion), and one more filler course

Yep, something along those lines would help.

Do what you enjoy and think you'll do best at. My friend picked chemistry, she sucked at it but enjoyed it, turned out to be her lowest score which was strange but yes do something you're good at, but ultimately keep in mind with those subjects it'll be difficult to achieve a 99 ATAR.

Problem is, Chemistry clashes with Drama. And originally it were my MAJOR issue because I love them both etc.....
Apparently I could do a chemistry bridging course?????? (after the HSC of course)

Ahahaha, Id love to do that... but I cant
I know, it can suck when they don't match up. I'd like to say take Drama, but I'm incredibly biased towards it. Always remember that you can do it outside of school. It's probably the easier out of that and chem to do (bridging courses aren't always easy to find).

Do English Advanced if you can. If you don't feel your up to it, then don't; but at least consider it. The same with MX1.

Definitely keep Bio. That goes without saying. Keep either drama or photography, but I don't think both are necessary. Especially considering photography isn't Board Approved (or whatever the term is they're using). Physics is alright, but chem would definitely be better.

My original problem was choosing between Drama and Chemistry. And I eventually stuck to Drama.
I might as well have some subjects I enjoy otherwise I'd be braindead by HSC.
However, Is it true its mainly not about the subjects you choose but how well you perform in them that counts??

For the most part, yes. Some subjects do scale better, and some are easier to get high marks in, but as long as you do well in the subjects you have, you'll do fine.

What else was on your Photography line? If there was nothing else there you liked you may consider doing TVET Animal Studies if you're interested in becoming a Veterinarian. I don't think it's too late to apply for TVET.
