SHM:
A particle moves in simple harmonic motion with acceleration a=-49x and initially the particle is 1m to the right of the origin.
a) Find the period of the motion
b) Find the maximum speed of the particle
c) Find the times when the displacement is 0.5m
Answers:
a)2pi/7
b)7m/s
c)pi/21, 5pi/21, 13pi/21,... s
PROJECTILE:
A ball is thrown into the air at an initial velocity of 22m/s and just clears a 2m tall fence 15m away. Find the angle of projection through which the ball is thrown (use g=9.8ms^-2 and ignore friction). (to nearest degree)
Answer:
81 degrees, 17 degrees.
