The side of a square courtyard is measured to be 5.8m.

a) Between what two limits does its area lie?

Does anyone know the answer?

Hi, i dont quiet understand the question however, is it referring to upper and lower limit? if it is then the solution is below:

5.8 is the lengths & it can go up or down by 0.1 so 0.1/2 = 0.05 therefore +/- 0.05

lower limit --> 5.8-0.05= 5.75 therefore 5.75x5.75= 33.0625m^2

upper limit --> 5.8+0.05= 5.85 therefore 5.85x5.85= 34.2225m^2

or either its refering to the upper and lower limit which is then 5.75 - 5.85.

I dont know if thats what the question is asking but if you got answers then post them up i will try work it out for you, hope it helped.

Is this from the Error in measurement topic? If it is then, jayraad is right.
