your exam mark will be 96
but your assessment mark will be equal to the last moderated assessment mark value?
we'd have to know your assessment mark (value) first?
e.g.
assessment mark of "20" (for argument's sake)
exam mark of 96
your hsc mark will be the average of the two, 55
or am i wrong here?

if you are ranked last in your assessment you will receive the lowest exam mark as your moderated assessment mark.
the average of the assessment and external will give your HSC mark.
So the myth about doing badly at school and making it up in the external to boost your internal marks is false.
look at the sticky post. it explains more than enough for you to understand. read the tables and compare them
