Registering for an ATAR (1 Viewer)

hey guys,
I was just talking to someone about the ATAR and universities and all, and he mentioned that you need the register for an ATAR. I haven't heard of this before, but he stated that if you register early then its far more cheaper than registering later. Do we register through UAC or what? ahhaa, now im just confused.

Isn't there something in our paperwork when we go into year 11 that asks if we wish to receive an atar and we just tick the box?

When you get your HSC confirmation of entry that the school always sends around (usually in homeroom of whatever), it'll have all your subjects and your personal details. In the little writing it should say something like 'you have indicated that you wish to receive an atar and currently your are eligible/ineligible. If it doesn't, then clarify with the school.
