Hi,

Can someone please explain the inversely proportional relationship between Electric Field Strength and Charge in E=F/q

I understand that they are inversley proportional, but i cant visualise why?

thanks

If you are looking at proportionality you need to keep other things the same. So the force needs to be constant.

So if you have a smaller charge, you will require a stronger electric field to obtain the same force.
