spirituality is probably more about trying to teach yourself, whereas religion is going to be told by authorities, one way of looking at that anyway.

Thread title should be spirit vs soul which are different things.
Religion combines both spirit and soul, but if one is missing then it is not religion.
When people are atheist they neglect spirit and refer only to the soul.
By spirit I mean connection to the supernatural. The soul only refers to human emotions and stuff which is not supernatural, but is thought of by people.
(note that you might have different definitions to these things than me so if you argue against what I just said, its probably just a definition matter).

To me, religion is an organised system of beliefs, whereas spirituality is something personal.
