hi, i'm studying revenge tragedy and i need to know about the context of a jacobean text....does anyone know any useful sites on the jacobean era (including the social, political, religious & cultural aspects of it)

umm..well its very simialr to elizabethian...generally youd just google it..but other than that i promise as soon as its possible for me to access my notes again (not currently at home) i'll stick mine up for you. Umm more or less its a period of unrest after the immense stability offered by teh Elizabethian age. Englands worrried about teh kings being oevrthrown, revenge is a moral quandry, honour demands it but it against the religion..umm teh stetting will always be outside of england due t the new found english pride..italy s a very common settng..

if your doing "Revengers tradgedy"..look into morality plays..cos it is one..thats teh best i can do off teh top of my head..ill add more later..best of luck!!!
