this is so dumb but basically im school captain and I can tell my vice principal has been waiting for a student to gift something to the school to "leave a legacy behind" and they've been hinting at it every assembly saying "this cohort will be there year to give back" but idk what I could get my school. I do also think its cool to leave an impact behind so might as well right.

anyway does anyone have any ideas?? (it can be expensive becos its gonna be funded thru fundraisers)

a lot of people seem to give a plaque or something, but usually all this is done well in advance and through fundraising. we did ours through fundraising, i think it was a fund for disadvantaged students. people in past years did murals and other gifts- gardens, statues, bathroom doors got painted... stuff like that idk

at our school, cohorts have given like new equipment for playgrounds and appliances for the senior kitchen

i said i was gonna start some sort of equity fund or like an equity 'store' to make sure students have what they need (uniform, hygiene stuff, stationery etc...) not sure how i'm gonna accomplish that

You can just plant a tree or something lol, our school got a Wollemi Pine which is a really old and rare Australian tree. We also have a brick pathway with plaques on it to commemorate key donors to the school, kinda like the Hollywood Walk of Fame but obvs less fancy.
Benches, gardens and murals with a plaque (saying 2025 cohort) can also be nice.
