for the simpsons rule, can we use this formula for 3 function values:

h/3[(y0+y2)+4(y1)]

You're better off just knowing the general rule. In past exams, there have been occasions where 5 function values are required.

I think she knows the rule, just wasnt sure when there were only 3 function values.

Yeh you can.

Take for example.

y = 2x

x 1 2 3

y 2 4 6


Using simpsons rule. 1/3 [ 2 + 4 [ 4 ] + 6]


You just x4 the middle term.
