The Evil Warlords have descended upon Iraq. They have raped and plundered and now they are trying to get to you! No, they arent recruiting you, or raping or plundering you - but they lurk, in your house, on your television sets, in your newspapers.

Does anyone else think this war was a load of honk?

Well, at least something has been gained. Bush has settled Daddy's score - Lets hear it for Bushy (applause - since you were a cheerleader for the college stickball team you straight c student you!). oh and then, Bush has gotten some oil! Yay for bush!

Hang on a second.

But wasnt this war to "Liberate Iraq?". Oh no, wasnt it to "get rid of the (fictitious) weapons of mass destruction?. Was it to overcome one of those known unknowns that we throught we knew, but wasnt actually known so hence was a known unknown?

Hold on a minute guys,

Why did we go to war?

Was it the aluminium pipes? Oooh deadly. Was it the thought of an Iraqi revolt? Watch out for them stone throwin younguns! No! Was it to liberate iraq from saddams oppressive regime? (Possibly - would have been quicker achieved if Morrocco, of the Coalition of the willing - had coughed up those 1000 odd monkeys they promised - bastards.)

So sit back and watch conservative america fumble around in the dark, waiting for the next election, where they will once more be forced to vote for the prettier candidate. both parties are once again republic, agree on everything and wouldnt understand the word pacifist if donald rumsfeld tried to explain it.

What is our world coming to guys? Question everything and remember, just because their older and more illierate (see BUSH), doesnt mean that they should be running countries.

Love Always,

You can't be stupid and become the American President... When will people acknowledge that little fact?
While I may not agree with the way that the war was carried out, at least the US appears to be acting in a pragmatic fashion given what they are being forced to face around the globe.

Nor should other illiterate old men be able to test weapons of mass destruction on his people.

A stupid guy can only become president if;
a) his dad was.
b) he wasnt voted in.

Bush satisfies all of the above. Gore was bad, but not this bad...

Quite a lot of racism in this thread...

You call Bush stupid and then you post something like this?

Ah, where is the 'quite a lot of' racism? I can only see one comment that denigrates the American people...

Stick to the issues. The War on Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism. The US admits that. The war was supposed to be about weapons of mass destruction. Note that America has never been attacked by WMDs; though it has helped other nations (like....well, Iraq) use them aganst civilians.

It helps when he's given a blank cheque by the world's biggest superpower (it was Rumsfeld himself, btw, who gave Saddam the clearway to kill his own people, in person, in Baghdad. I'm sure you've seen the photo of him shaking Saddam's hand)

The political centre has shifed inexorably to the Right over the past 20 years, so the word "radical" means very little. 50 years ago, people like Einstein were admitted socialists.

I was sticking to the issue. It was a war. When has international law ever dictated how a nation defends itself against perceived threats? As I said, the US is being pragmatic, and in doing so it is attempting to cover its tracks, which is what any nation would do.

Firstly, regarding the racism - well just look at the topic - you're managing to insult two groups at once!

It's all well and good to make statements like "America told Iraq to use WMDs on their citizens!!!!!1111!!!!!!eleventyone!!!" but let's see you provide even one fact to back up that claim. Yes, America did support Saddam as a means of controlling Iran, but after Saddam became a problem America pulled out, while countries like France and Russia continued to deal with them (note the stance of these countries towards the war?). If you seriously believe the world has moved towards the RIGHT recently, you really are ignorant. The election of the Bush administration is basically the only thing that doesn't fit in with the trend of the world moving towards the left.

I am the one
You oppose the war I see.

Meaning, you opposed the overthrow of Saddam, hence you still prefer him to be the ruler of Iraq.

People in Iraq, during his regime, were slaves. Thats all.
They suffered immensely, they barely had enough food to eat.
Why? Because their leader, used all his damn money, to build palaces with toilet flushes, made of pure gold.
Were they allowed to speak out against this? No.
Those who did, were tortured. Then Killed.
Do they get to go to school and learn things that didn't have the words "Saddam is Great" in it?
No.

Were they even allowed to listen to music that was saturated with Pro-Saddam propaganda?
No.

Here in Australia. We are mostly all able to awake in a comfortable bed. We have enough food to eat. And if our government does something stupid. We can criticise them without being torture and killed.
We can listen to any music we want. We can learn what we want. We are free.

What have we done to deserve all of this?

NOTHING.

Your freedom is a privilege. Not a right. Do not take it for granted, their are millions who don't have it.

Following the fall of Saddam

The Pro-Saddam propaganda has now been replaced with Pro-America propganda. But really who cares? Innocent Iraqi people aren't dying in the many numbers that they previously did.

As for the weapons of mass destruction.
AGB said it perfectly.

i would like to quote donald rumsfeld on this......"just because we can not find Osama Bin Laden does not mean he does not exist"

Regards.

US Acting in a Pramatic fasion? Please you must be joking. Lets put your view into prospective.
Lets go back a few months when president Bush introduced his soo called Roadmap to Peace..hmm The "roadmap" to peace between Israel and the Palestinians, finally released with little fanfare or enthusiasm on May 1 after almost a year of aimless wandering , is surely doomed. Near fatal internal flaws and severe political constraints on its implementation render it a roadmap to nowhere, destined for the same junk yard where the Mitchell Plan, the Tenet Plan, and the Zinni Plan have rusted for the two years of the Bush-Sharon stewardship over the so-called "peace process."

Now to Xaymayes I agree with you when u say that Suddam was wrong in gassing his own peopleHowever lets look at exactly what occurred.during the gassing in tha late 1980s when suddam gassed thousands of sunni muslims..the presedent at that time (George Bush The fisrt) did not see it as a concern only when iraq occupied neighbouring Kuait saw the need to attack iraq..POLITICAL HIPOCRACYYOU BE THE JUDGE.
