hi everyone this is my first post here (long time reader, first time poster lol), and i was hoping if could give me advise on my subject selection for year 11:). so far i have chosen:

Advanced English 2
Maths 2
PD/H/PE 2
Senior Science 2
Business Studies 2

as for my last subject i am split between economics and legal studies. economics sounds interesting, is probably a little more relevant to my preffered carrer path and it scales better ( i have also heard that it is harder than legal). on th other hand legal studies also sounds very interesting, and from the sounds of things is a little easier (which would probably suit me as i be lazy sometimes:uhoh:)

P.S if it helps i am probably a little above average student and am interested in a career path as a sports marketer, or something along those lines.

thanks in advance ;)

Very good subject choices! :) English (Advanced) is a very challenging, yet interesting and fun course (according to my stepbrother the worst thing about Advanced English is reading Jane Austen).
Maths - good. PDHPE - yes, definitely a very practical - 100% theory, yet has practical application as you never actually do any sport during Senior PDHPE, other than the occasional PRAC lesson one every three months or so :D
Senior Science - are you sure that you don't want to do BIO? Biology and PDHPE are a wonderful combination, as the syllabuses overlap - in PDHPE you learn about "the body in motion", and in Biology, you learn about individual human body parts, e.g. organs, body systems. Senior Science is very easy :D, but Biology is not much harder, and it has more benefits for your career of SPORTS MARKETER. (Very good, rewarding career, perhaps you could even go into personal training one day???)
Business Studies - excellent, practical choice.

NOW - of LEGAL STUDIES and ECO, I would say LST (Legal Studies). Just because:

There's a quote about this, it was in the Sydney Morning Herald - Careers liftout. :D

"Law is a great springboard for all professions. It [law] gives you the skills empolyers relish, such as problem solving skills, understanding of legal issue, etc." OK...so the quote was the 1st sentence and I wrote the 2nd one.

It HAS TO BE legal studies, if you ask me - but it's up to you mate. :D

GOOD LUCK!:)

Don't worry. There will be a change in the syllabus. You won't need to read that book or whatever. You will have something else. :)

Legal is good as a back up subject for your hsc, its VERY straight forward, to pick up marks you just have to know the relevant issues, legislation, cases, treaties and media files for each topic. plus, its pretty interesting (except workplace, im doing a workplace essay right now and its the biggest drag)

id do bio over senior science and legal over eco. the rest are fine. the only thing u might consider later on is dropping to general maths if the advanced course gets too hard.

If your career path is a sports marketer, you can probably drop your senior science, or any sciences. Aslo, take economics, it scales HEAPS better than legal.
