if you want to enrol in a subject that is not in the faculty of ur couse do you still do that at ur normal enrolment time or do you have to go to another enrolment session as well?

I think you do it at your own session. Enrolment, as I understand it, is based on your degree rather than your individual subjects.

It depends if your course allows electives in the first year? If it doesn't then no you can't, you have to stick to the standard program. If it does, you will probably get to choose them at enrolment day, or you can tell them you'll choose a bit later if you need time to think, just as long as you do it before uni starts.

say you create a timetable, how does it work? from what i can see, i have 3 things on at one time.... im so confused....

The timetable creator is a bit shonky in the sense that if there is more that one tutorial or lab scheduled for that timeslot in the same subject, then it shows it as a clash, lol. Just pretend there is only one class. Click on "Show All Classes" which will list all the available timeslots for that subject, its a lot easier to read it that way .

just out of interest - is it better to do enrolment as early as possible to ensure that i get my preference of timetable... like get 1st choice for lecture/lab times?

Usually yes, but there are heaps of times for first year subjects usually. You have been allocated times to enrol, so you need to go at that time, you can't go earlier.

hmm, i'm a bit confused...what exactly is that UTS 2004 Timetables used for?

Its for looking up the times of when the subjects are available. When you go to enrol, you will have to enrol in classes, so its best to choose the classes before you enrol, otherwise you can view paper copies of the timetables on the day usually.

oh...so how do u know now which subjects u need to do?

For my course (B Sci Applied Physics) the subjects are predetermined for first semester, similar to most other specialised Science courses (Applied Chem etc). That said, looking up the course in the online handbook will usually tell you which subjects you need to pick.

ok ive applied for a tfn but dont have it yet... they gave me a little piece of magic paper, do i just take that along to enrolment with me?

haha they better...coz i havent applied for tfn...and i plan to do it on the morning of enrolment

i have a thing that says i have applied for a tfn, which has to be fine because hecs doesnt have 2 b fully worked out till the end of march. i will not be full fee paying, its a stupid concept.

A friend of mine is yet to lodge his form with the ATO, which means he still doesn't have his TFN nor his certificate of application. Does he just ask the university to wait tomorrow, when we enroll?
