Can anyone who has done both subjects or has good knowledge of both help me out with picking one of them. I feel like I'll find business studies more interesting but do better at economics in terms of grades.

From my experience of taking economics but having friends that did business studies, the standards of work when doing HSC economics is much higher- essays and short answer quesitons. The material that'll need to memorise and understand for economics is more complicated than business studies and business studies has been often reported to be "easier" fundamentally than economics. However, I think in general, at the HSC level, learning economics demands more of your time but is easier to get interested in.

I did both Business and economics in yr 12 and I'll say is Business has a lot of memorisation and while so does economics, its a lot more about understanding than memorising. If you do choose business, you'll have to learn a new form of extended writing that being business reports ( still haven't figured out how to do them) not saying its hard but its still a new thing to get used to. Business a lot more common sense, the main thing is memoring the whole syllabus and writing about it. While Economincs is a lot more about using your brain to understand concepts and finding irl example to back up your understanding and those said concepts. Although I've heard nesa is planning a new syllabus for eco in 2026 with a more focus on environmental stuff so that could make eco easier, maybe.
