Three of my teachers for subjects: Business, Ancient and Legal have left, leaving us with a new teacher for each subject.

The problem is that the new teachers for Business and Legal don't know what they are doing as this is their first time teaching the HSC subject and overall as a teacher they are not organized.... which is really de-motivating in class and I doubt we will get alot of work done. Regarding the History teacher, based upon feedback from 2011 HSC students, he is away most of the time and has little knowledge on the subject.

Anyone have/had this problem? If so what did you do or plan on doing?

Personally I think I will have to put extra effort if i want to achieve a satisfactory HSC mark for each subject. ^___^

Sadly, you're disadvantaged and will have to be a gun at individual study to make up this shortfall.

I wish you luck as I tread the same path. (Not 3 subjects for me though luckily)

Give the new teachers a chance, it's your first day back and probably their second day back. I reckon you'll find new teachers are quite enthusiastic.

I have four new teachers. I guess you just have to deal with it! Individual study would be the best bet if you find yourself falling behind, but definitely give them a chance! You can't gauge how good of a teacher they are based on the one or two days that you have been at school.

For Business Studies it's pretty easy to understand the content even without the teacher. As long as you are consistently writing notes on the syllabus using a textbook like Business Studies in Action you will be fine.

Business and Legal are pretty easy to self study imo so it shouldn't be too much of an issue if you put your head to it

Yep, all 3 of your subjects are primarily theory based subjects which can be self taught, though a good teacher would have been handy. Just make sure to concentrate doing your own thing in class, get the right textbooks and make sure to have atleast a few friends who you can discuss some of the concepts with. On the other hand, don't go by first impressions your teachers may seem to not know anything but make sure to really squeeze them out really well - harass them by getting your essays marked, checking notes, marking practice papers etc etc.

Study hard. I had the most useless physics teacher on the planet, bad notes, dissorganised, had no idea what she was teaching and i still got a state ranking :awesome: so its doable.

I did it, so can you :) Well I only got 92.65 and no state ranks BUT I taught myself most of it on my own.. My only fantastic teacher was for maths.. If you need advice feel free to PM me as I have experienced what you are first hand (except in the sciences)..

Sounds the same as the position that I'm in but I probably won't be able to hit the state rank button. I find a set of good notes to be very, very advantageous - got me to understand and know the whole module very quickly.
