I called my old school - they got the paper 10 mins ago (hardcopy though!)

Very straightforward paper:

Question 1 : 4 unseen texts
Cd-rom cover
Powerpoint presentation
Prose (longish)
Prose (shortish)

Question 2 : creative task
About the process of journeying

Question 3 : Journey through time, Journey through x, y, z ..?
Your prescribed text
Choice of stimulus booklet text
At least ONE text of your choosing

Sounds like a good paper - nobody should have had any major problems.

yeah it was really contrived i found. but then so is the whole course.
i compared it with that ursula leguin quote - it is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end. i said that without the journey the arrival is meaningless, but some destination is necessary to allow the traveller to reflect on and acknowledge the changes the journey has wrought in them.

whole lot of wanky bull, really.

question one was to be expected but the essay was strange. didnt leave much room to talk about techniques i thought even though i did. im not sure if i answered the question properly i spoke about the common theme of realisation in all my poems and im not sure if that will fly

like a bird, baby. common themes maintained throughout the essay is a definite bonus point.

my essay was schitsky von krap. i gave two pages to my intro, two to tempest and two to my supp text and then 1 para on my SB text (atwood) then a SHITE conclusion. grrr.
