Main themes are cultural identity (Peter's polish cultural heritage clashing with his newly adapted Australian identity), belonging to the Australian community (Peter having trouble integrating with his new school life and his Australia life, also how his family is starting to belong but he is confused), experience of European migrants into Australia (European migrants missing their home and feeling mentally confused as a they're being 'isolated' by the Australian mainstream community" and much more.
