In my opinion the English Trial marks at my school have been fudged. According to the report on the scaling of the 2002 HSC the average mark for Advanced English was 78% and less than 1% of the canditure acheived a band 1. At my school the vast majority of people have failed and the few that did acctually pass, typically received band 2. While I recognise that my school is not the best of schools, in my opinion there must have been some kind of breakdown in the marking process. Do any of you guys know if there is any way of appealing trial marks or do I just have to accept the marks I'm given?

you can appeal but i think it has to be done on the day they hand it out since its possible to do some editing and hand it back. Depends on how lenient the teachers are.
