A ship bearing 036 degrees is 5500 metres due south of a lighthouse
Apparently, the 5500 metres is the hypotenuse of the diagram?
Can someone please provide a diagram so I can understand it better thanks

5500m is the distance from the ship to the lighthouse, not the distance from the ship to the top of the lighthouse (which would be the hypotenuse of the triangle)
