Do you guys think if hypothetically saying someone doing the hsc has average marks and ranks througout the year and then get's all band six's or majority of band six's in there hsc and trials will get a UAI of 90.

Also there school isnt very good there ranked like over 300

I mean just to see if they have any hope of 90

and saying subjects like std english
busienss studies
legal
gen maths
pdhpe

thanks

i dont think so... maybe at best in the 80's. If all marks and ranks were average, cuz the UAI works on the rankings - not so much individual marks. this is especially the case for school assesments

average...would be pretty bad in such a low ranked school and then to suddenly get all band 6's is very unlikely, u'd probably be getting top 1-5 places definitely if that happenned

your overall marks would move up, since you over performed in the hsc exams in relation to your ranking, but they wouldnt move up all the way to the hsc exam mark. they would get caught in the middle

so in the end if you did average all year and got an average rank then got band 6 in exams, your final mark would be somewhere in the middle, probably in the 80s, and so you would probably not get over 90 UAI. just below it i'd say (unless you get super high band 6's, around 97-98, in which case you might be able to get above 90UAI)

ext1 scales evenly (comparing the aligned -> scaled marks)
ext2 scales up quite a bit

dude, firstly, take a chill pill. you've been posting stressed out posts all over the forum.

secondly, your friend probs got <30.00 because her pass marks were only "just pass", and the main factor is that her subs are all lowly scaled.

i know someone who got all band 4's & one band 5 but her subjects were really poor scaling so she ended up with a UAI of 50. oh well....
dw everyone tells me to stress less :p
& i dont think its true :| but i wouldnt know....the maths coordinator at my school told me that wasnt true.
