hey

just wondering for first year commerce if we need all the books that are on the list....mine come to over $1000

or do u just get the prescribed ones?

Just get the prescribed textbooks. Also, some subjects require you to buy the course notes.

yeh dont buy all of them. if you are unsure go to the first lectures for each subject and they give u a course outline which tell u which textbook u need. lots of the "recommended" ones are not needed

I never bought any of the recommended books last year. If you did it will cost you a fortune as you have worked out. You really only need to buy them if you are struggling to understand the content. Remember that you can also borrow and photocopy them at the library.

I would just go for the prescribed books if I were you.
